WHAT IS HYPNOSIS?
Hypnosis is a natural state of trance where one is open to suggestion. This can be achieved through guided self-hypnosis.
By using a guided relaxation, concentration and focused attention, you can achieve a heightened state of awareness that is sometimes called a "trance". Once in a state of trance or hypnosis, you are better able to respond to suggestions. For example, hypnosis can help change certain behaviours like overeating, smoking, or nail biting. Guided hypnosis can also help in changing perceptions and sensations, in an effort to relieve pain and anxiety.
While in a hypnotic state, you are completely awake and are in a state of heightened awareness. All progress and changes come from within you. All hypnosis is self-hypnosis. As your therapist, I do not control you. I simply guide the process, which can empower you to create the changes you desire.
